Quote:
{50:23} And his companion, [the angel], will say, "This [record] is what is with me, prepared."
I suggest,
{50:23} And his constant companion (the angel) will say, "This is what I have ready (the record of deeds)."Quote:
{50:24} [God will say], "Throw into Hell every obstinate disbeliever,
I suggest,
{50:24} [God will say], "Both of you [angels], throw into Hell every obstinate disbeliever,"Quote:
{50:27} His [devil] companion will say, "Our Lord, I did not make him transgress, but he [himself] was in extreme error."
It is not a given that the companion who says this is the devil. It could very well be the angel who got scared that he too may be thrown into hell! Therefore, I suggest,
{50:27} His constant companion will say, "Our Lord, I did not make him transgress, but he was in extreme error."Quote:
{50:29} The word will not be changed with Me, and never will I be unjust to the servants."
This verse is one of only five where God refers to people in general as
عبيد, which means slaves. "Servants", therefore, is an incorrect translation; it's a proper translation of
عباد. Therefore, I suggest a literal translation:
{50:29} The word (Mine) is not changed with Me, and I am never unjust to the slaves.
