{112:1} Say, "He is God, [who is] One,

Well, "one" translates واحد, not أحد. Only Yusuf Ali got that when he translated أحد as "One and Only." I suggest "Unique" or "Singular."

{112:1} Say, "He is God, Unique."

Quote:
{112:2} God, the Eternal Refuge.

الصمد is not an easy word to translate. No wonder the translations offer several suggestions. The word is derived from a verb that means "remains steady" or "is unshaken", so why not simply translate it "The Steady" or "The Constant?"

{112:2} "God, The Constant."

Quote:
{112:3} He neither begets nor is born,

I suggest,
{112:3} "He did not beget nor was He begotten."

Quote:
{112:4} Nor is there to Him any equivalent."

I suggest,
{112:4} "And never has been to Him an equal."

I prefer "One and Only" since unique is overused so has come to indicate "one of few."

Excellent. If only there was a word that also captures the "resistant to attack" aspect, that would even be better.

Quote:
{112:3} "He did not beget nor was He begotten."
Agreed.

Quote:
{112:4} "And never has been to Him an equal."
Very good! This is a good translation of a very important chapter.

How about "Immune"?

I'd like to add "anyone" above so as to translate every word in the Arabic, i.e.,
{112:4} "And never has been to Him anyone equal."
